I’ll admit, I’m a bit of an old fogey when it comes to popular music. I like many types of music but what I have most on my playlist is ‘rock ‘n roll’ from the fifties throught the nineties. Of the multiple thousands of songs in my playlist the ones I play most are from Motown, and of those, my favorites are by The Temptations. Don’t get me wrong, Motown had some of the best vocal groups and recordings and many many different artists, but the Temps are my personal favorites. I’m relying on them for some help with a problem.
I’ve written a lot over the past month about change, mostly because I’m making big changes in my writing an marketing strategies. Change is scary and exciting, and I have one last important thing to say, which I will say by paraphrasing a song by my favorite group. This is for all those who take a moment from their day to visit and read my RAmblin’ Author Notes.
I never met a friend who makes me feel the way that you do. (You’re alright)
Whenever I’m asked who makes my dreams real, I say that you do. (You’re outta sight)
So, fee-fi-fo-fum
Look out readers, ’cause here it comes.
And I’m bringing you a tale of love that’s true
So get ready, so get ready.
I pray you’re gonna love it too
So get ready, so get ready ’cause here it comes.
As a performer, I certainly do not see any flaws in your taste, Rue! However, I’m a bit more broadminded when it comes to genres.
It still has to be Rock ’n Roll naturally. add-in Folk, Blues, Country & Alternative. I am willing to meet almost everyone’s taste along the road!

Annemarie, thank you very much for sharing. I agree. I love all sorts of music Rock, Pop, Folk, Country, Broadway, Classical, Instrumental, Vocal, A Capella, Solos, Intricate harmonies, and more. There are few musical genres that do not appeal to my personal tastes. Rap and Hip Hop for example. However, I try to understand them because in my ears, ALL music is good music. In other words, no matter how you ‘make a joyful noise,’ making it is what is important.
